Soft Tissue Practitioner

MY STORY:

I am one of the soft tissue practitioners here at the Tuning Room, and I am a registered and accredited Graduate Sports Rehabilitator (GSR) with the British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT).

I graduated from my masters degree in Sports Rehabilitation at the start of the 2023 year, having furthered my studies from my bachelors degree (BSc) in Sport Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage (2022).

As a soft tissue coach I work with the whole system, especially soft tissue structures and nervous system, with administering whatever that is required – strength, compression, decompression, stretching, high intensity, low intensity, breathwork, fascial release, and many more techniques. I work to consistently fine-tune the soft tissues to the demand of their environment. As part of my role as a coach I work with people in our tune up room to help them achieve their health goals. We offer a much more bespoke, tailored package to a person's needs on the day and this is not a cookie cutter approach.

I am a very active person that will do anything to get outdoors, especially the beach, and go on an adventure. I have loved sport my whole life, with my favorite being rugby. I had the opportunity to represent the Ospreys Academy between the ages of 15-18, which inspired me to further my rugby at university in Cardiff Metropolitan. Whilst playing rugby I sustained many injuries throughout my career, with countless hospital and physio visits, without receiving the appropriate care, education and knowledge to improve my pain or injury. I got to a point where I started to suffer with all aspects of my life due to being a very unhealthy, unhappy and stuck version of myself that I did not recognise.

This sparked my interest from a young age to find out why am I getting injured, why am I experiencing this pain or dysfunction, why am I suffering. Ultimately, how can I improve my health and life, to continue playing the sport I love, continue to go outdoors on any adventure, to continue spending time with friends and family, without having to experience a sense of pain or suffering in my life. This purpose has led me to the position I am in today, to serve and facilitate the healing required for people within our community not to experience pain, dysfunction or suffering, but to live the life they want.
